
Concorde 2 Brighton is proud to present C2 FAST TRACK TO LIVE SOUND. A 2 week vocational course in live sound, you’ll spend 2 weeks with the venues engineers learning how to set-up, sound check and mix a band. How the PA works, How the sound gets to the desk, what to do with the sound while at the desk and how it gets to the PA.
For over two decades Concorde 2 has stood at the forefront of musical innovation. Widely recognised as Brighton's premier live music venue and night club, and often quoted as one of the greatest venues across the country, it has played host to some of the greatest bands the world has ever seen.
Taught by engineers that run the venue on a day to day basis, we take pride in the fact that our primary way of teaching is through practical sessions, we feel that this is the best way to learn, and through learning the consoles you will gain a better knowledge of how and why they work. We have concoles to suit all levels of learning wheather you are on the foundation course or advanced, we have the equipment to cater for you.

The Beginner course will be catering for people with zero or very little experience. Starting with the very basics in live sound. If you have a passion for live sound and want to learn more this is the course for you.
The course itself is aimed at people with some live experience, but want to know more This intermediate course provides a deeper look into live sound and all aspects of it. During the course we will spend more time with digital consoles, You will get the opportunity to work on a live show at the Concorde 2, and gain more desk time.
C2LIVESOUND will now be offering 2 day courses as well as the 1 and 2 week courses, for a brief look into live sound. An insight into the things you can expect to see in venues around the country.
You’ll get a look into what mics do what, what cables to use and how to to set up a bands backline.
Some of the skills you would need if going out to any work for any size company, if you think you have a passion for sound, but are not to sure if its what you really want to do in life, then come down for a couple of days and see what happens.

Over the 2 week course you will learn the fundamentals of live sound, we will look at the equipment making the sound and how to get the best from it.
During the first week we will look at analogue desks, gain structure, signal path and EQ. Slowly building your skills as we go, by the end of week one you will be taking charge of your first sound check.
As we roll into week 2 we will begin to look at the use of dynamics and fx, gates and compressors, we will also begin our look into digital consoles, as well as monitoring for the acts themselves.

Wheather carrying on from the beginner course or coming to the Concorde with your own experience, the intermediate course will provide a faster learning curve than the beginner course, the student will be expected to have some knowledge of a mixing console and what the basic parameters our, you would be expected to be able to get the signal into the desk and know the correct mic for the job.
On the course we’ll be looking in more depth at Dynamics and FX, while in groups others will be working on stage sound, learning to control feedback and get the best from the monitor wedges.
By the end of the week, you’ll be expected to be able to build FOH and monitors take the sound check, and run a 30 min set from the act.

All students need to be 16 years or over prior to the commencement of the course they have selected
Course placement is only confirmed once deposit has been received. The full cost of the course needs to be paid at least 1 month prior to the course selected.
If the student advises C2 LIVE SOUND in writing that they cannot attend the course on the agreed date at least 30 days prior to commencement they will be entitled to a total refund.
In the unlikely event of C2 LIVE SOUND cancelling your course, you will be offered a full refund for the day or days that the training was unable to take place or an alternative re-scheduled date will be offered. C2 LIVE SOUND will not be liable for any travel or accommodation costs.
